Personal Training for Olympic Style Lifts

Everyone has heard of the Olympic style lifts the Snatch, and the Clean and Jerk.  But very few people know how to do them properly.  I have seen many people skip these essential athletic lifts because they are either scared of them or do not know how to do them.  My suggestion to them is to get trained by someone who knows how to do them.  You can not be a serious athlete and not do Olympic lifting.  I would say its almost impossible to be an elite athlete without these lifts in your program.  There is no substitute for the speed, power, and explosiveness that these lifts develop.  NO SUBSTITUTE!!!  I can’t make myself any clearer.  One thing that all elite level athletes (football, soccer, rugby, track and field, MMA, and many other sports) have in their programs, is these lifts.  Training your body to apply force to the ground to lift a barbell over head takes time.  I have been doing these lifts for awhile and have had the opportunity to work with some of the best coaches in the USA  (Mike Burgener, Greg Everett, Stephan Rochet, Casey and Natalie Burgener, Sage Burgener).  They have all taught me a wealth of knowledge that I use with my clients everyday.   Not only that, but I continue to learn from them all the time. I have seen dramatic improvements in speed, agility, and power.  My vertical jump keeps going up.  You will notice these effects also if you start doing these lifts.  I promise!!!

If you want to learn the Olympic Lifts then I suggest you contact me ASAP for some personal training.  The information and skills you learn will be worth way more then what you pay.

Speed, Agility, and Olympic Lifts (Recipe for Success!)

If you want to increase your speed and agility you are going to have to work at it.  Its a lot of work that you put in over a long period of time.  Some things that are necessary are a lifting program that promotes explosiveness and drills that improve turn over and stride length.  Currently I am training with a partner and we are working on both speed and agility on Mondays and Wednesdays.   Not any more then that because we are in season with Rugby.

We do our lifting on our own.  I love the Olympic lifts and have seen some great improvements in strength and speed.  If your an athlete and your not doing Olympic lifts, then you are no where close to realizing your potential.  Olympic Lifts do so much for developing that speed and explosiveness that is needed in sports.  If you don’t know where to go to learn these lifts then you need to come see me.  The best way to learn the Olympic style lifts is to be coached by someone who knows what they are doing.

As far as the drills go for speed and agility, there are so many to choose from.  I recommend doing a dynamic warm up, followed by drills and exercises that promote proper sprinting technique.  Some good things to have would be a ladder, parachute, tire to drag, rubber tubing, rings, mini hurdles, etc.  There are tons of products out there to help you succeed.  There is lots of information on the Internet also.  If you have the patience to do the research then you can and will put something together.  Just put in the work and it will come.

If you or anyone you know is interested in learning the Olympic Style Lifts or want to improve speed and agility then contact me.  I am available for 1 on 1 sessions or group sessions.
